About

Riding here since 1957

Mottingham Farm Equestrian Centre, established in 1957, is a horse riding school in North Kent covering 55 acres of land, just a short drive from central London, Dartford and Bromley.

Outdoors, always

Learning how to ride a horse is a unique experience for children and adults alike. We teach horse riding exclusively outdoors, so our riders experience this amazing sport in a natural, yet safe environment.

Our classes take place either in our outdoor school or one of our eight fields, most of which are also used to turn out our horses on their days off or overnight. This means our horses and ponies are working from home, and are therefore very relaxed in these large open spaces.

Room for everyone

We currently have more than 40 horses and ponies and eight different fields, allowing us to take multiple outdoor lessons at the same time. Riders of different ages and abilities can ride at once, and all will have a brilliant ride.

We offer riding lessons for all abilities and take students from the age of 4. Our friendly, experienced staff offer an enjoyable riding experience for novice riders, nervous riders, intermediate riders and confident, seasoned riders.

Schools and young riders

We work closely with Bromley and Lewisham Councils and offer rides and riding lessons for school groups, including children with special needs.
