Safety and what to wear

Hat on, heels down

We take safety very seriously. We ask you to always be respectful around our horses, listen to your riding instructors, and wear the proper safety gear.

Hats

  • All riders must wear a BSI standard hard riding hat.
  • We can provide a hat for the duration of a lesson if necessary.
  • Frequent riders may prefer to buy their own hat, which must be BSI standard.

Clothing

  • Jodhpurs or long stretch trousers.
  • A top with sleeves.
  • Young riders and those learning to jump should wear a body protector.
  • Experienced jumpers must wear a body protector to jump cross country, as well as long sleeves and riding gloves.
  • We cannot offer body protectors on site, as they must be professionally fitted for the rider.

Footwear

  • Sturdy shoes or boots with a small block heel.
  • No trainers, sandals or UGG style boots.

Minimum age

  • Children must be at least 4 years old to start riding with us.
